Alheim, July 1, 2010 – sonnen_systeme Projektgesellschaft mbH has supplied a photovoltaic power station in Grimma, Saxony (Germany), with 376 sonnen_system_3_60 tracking systems.
The solar power station covers 17 hectares (approx. 24 soccer pitches) and will in future provide clean electrical energy for around 1,300 households. The astronomically controlled dual-axis tracking systems generate up to 45% more output than fixed installations. In addition, sonnen_systeme solar tracking systems are among the safest on the market. Their high-quality design and extensive control and monitoring system ensure precision and long-term fault-free functionality.

Munich, June 10, 2010 – Kirchner Solar Group GmbH, the majority shareholder of sonnen_systeme Projektgesellschaft mbH, has been awarded the status of premium provider for the planning and installation of solar power systems at “Intersolar”, the international trade fair for solar technology.
Kirchner Solar Group, based in Alheim, Hesse, is one of three German companies to receive this status from Mannheimer Versicherung AG, which specializes in solar power system insurance with its “LUMIT®” brand. The successful companies were selected after extensive quality assessment. Studies show that many of the damage claims for photovoltaic systems can be prevented if sufficiently high quality standards are set for planning, components, installation and aftercare.

At Intersolar 2010 sonnen_systeme Projektgesellschaft mbH presents its iPhone - based application track_app to the public. Track_app is a simple and intuitive application which enables the user to take sonnen_systeme trackers and SMA inverters in operation and to monitor and control them remotely.
Track_app will be presented live during the trade fair “Intersolar 2010” in Munich by sonnen_systeme Projektgesellschaft (Hall C4, Booth 210).

Kirchner Solar Group, based in the North Hesse town of Alheim-Heinebach, is growing not just in Germany but around the world. The order books for Italy, where the company maintains an office, are already full to bursting with contracts worth over 70 million euros for 2010.
The sites of the new projects are predominantly in north-east Italy, in the Piedmont region and the Emilia-Romagna region in the north-west. The orders cover the delivery, installation and start-up of around 1,800 sonnen_system tracking systems for solar parks and individual investors, corresponding to a total power output of some 15 megawatt peak. The projects are due to be completed by October 2010.

sonnen_systeme Projektgesellschaft has been awarded a contract to supply 1,000 photovoltaic (PV) tracking systems. The customer is Powerhouse Solar, based in the Canadian province of Ontario. The contract was signed on 13 January 2010, and delivery will be spread out over the year 2010.
“This vindicates our strategy of high-quality premium tracking systems”, said Jochen Marg, sales manager international at sonnen_systeme Projektgesellschaft. “With a contract worth just under 10 million euros, we are making a major entry into the Canadian market as a systems supplier.”

The Hessian town of Bad Hersfeld, Germany, saw the initiation of its first solar park this past September. The solar park in Bad Hersfeld was commissioned by the city of Bad Hersfeld and conceptualized and built by the Alheim company sonnen_systeme Projektgesellschaft mbH.
The Mayor of the City of Bad Hersfeld, Hartmut H. Boehmer, and Managing Director sonnen_systeme Projektgesellschaft, Lars Kirchner, both presided over the launch celebration.
The 73 dual-axis tracking systems, each one equipped with 8.23 kWp, were installed on over 8 acres of land, and will be producing about 750.000 kWh per year. The total investment for this installation amounts to € 3.2M, or US$ 4.7M.
